  Crawshaw Family Crest / Crawshaw Coat of ArmsThe surname of CRAWSHAW was a locational name 'of Crawshay' now called Crawshaw-booth, a hamlet in the parish of Whalley, County Lancashire. The name derived from the Old English 'Crawa' meaning crow, plus 'Sceaga' meaning grove. William Crawhshawe married Emma Brummel at St. George's, Hanover Square, London in 1758. At first the coat of arms was a practical matter which served a function on the battlefield and in tournaments.
