The Spanish surname of VILLALOBOS was a habitation name from a place in the province of Zamora, so called from the Latin VILLA (settlement) + the personal name LUPUS (wolf). He was also responsible for several ballets. In 1932 he became director of musical education for Brazil and in 1945 founded the Brazilian Academy of Music.
