The latter's granddaugher, Margaret, married Edmund Tudor, half brother of Henry IV. and was mother of Henry VIII She was a great patroness, endowing Christ's and St. John's Colleges at Cambridge.Other instances of the name include Ralph de Bellafago, 1086, County Suffolk, and Nicholas de Bealfo appears in Hertfordshire in the year 1114. Ralph de Beaufow was recorded in County Lincolnshire, during the reign of Edward III (1327-1377) and Thomas de Beaufou of Yorkshire, was listed in the Yorkshire Poll Tax of 1379.
